Ten times the turnover, with an advisor invested in the business and the family behind it
The starting point
Matthew Sheen built Too Hot To Handle Heating and Cooling on his skills and hard work, and the business was growing. Like many business owners, he knew his trade far better than the numbers behind it, and he was looking for someone who could help him grow and manage the business with confidence.
Over 5 years ago, Matthew’s relationship with his accountant was largely reactive. They met once a year, usually well after tax time had passed, and the conversation rarely went beyond what had already happened. Whenever he tried to look ahead, he came away with very little.
“We were paying close to 47% tax, and whenever we asked if there was a better way to structure things or improve our position, we were basically told, ‘That’s just how it is.'”
For a business owner with real ambition, that was a hard message to hear. He had a feeling there was a better way to structure the business, and he wanted someone who would look at the bigger picture with him and help him plan ahead.
The turning point
Matthew’s first meeting with Lead Partner Krushang Vaidya was a casual sit down chat, and it changed everything. Krushang wanted to know how the business ran, what Matthew was aiming for and what success would look like for him and his family, then he made a promise to get him there.
“Krushang had one meeting with myself and promised a better result and in the first year he over delivered on all claims and we haven’t looked back.”
A structure rebuilt from the ground up. Krushang reshaped how the business was set up, putting the right entities and protections in place so it could grow on stronger foundations and keep more of its profit as it expanded.
Clear goals with a plan behind them. Together, Matthew and Krushang set goals for where the business was heading and mapped out the steps to reach them, so growth had a direction.
Knowledge and confidence. Krushang talked Matthew through the reasoning behind every decision, so he understood his numbers, knew what they meant for the business and could make calls with certainty.
The outcome
In the first year, Krushang delivered on every commitment he made. 5 years on, Too Hot To Handle has grown its turnover to 10 times where it started.
For Matthew, the biggest change has been having an advisor who understands the business and gives clear, practical guidance. He now runs the business knowing why each decision makes sense, with a partner who cares as much about his family’s future as the bottom line.
“Like many business owners, we knew our trade but not necessarily how to grow and manage a business. Krushang has helped us put the right structures in place, set goals, and given us the knowledge and confidence to achieve them.”
Key outcomes
- Business restructured from the ground up with the right entities and protections
- Turnover grown to 10x its starting point in 5 years
- A tax position built to support growth
- Clear goals with a plan to reach them
- A dedicated partner who knows the business and the family
- A client who now refers friends and other businesses to 360 ONE
What sets the partnership apart
Matthew’s growth was built step by step. A structure that suited the business, goals that pushed it further and decisions made with a clear head each added to the last, year after year. It’s The 1% Way at its best: small, consistent improvements that compound into something much bigger, in this case ten times the turnover.
The partnership also reaches beyond the numbers. Krushang looks at Matthew’s whole picture, including the business, the family behind it and where they all want to be, and that care shows in every conversation.
“They know what they are talking about and they give the best advice. I have recommended friends and other businesses to them.”
His advice to anyone weighing it up
“You’d be crazy if you didn’t. I’ve been to 4 accountants before this and I would never consider anyone else again. They have me as a lifelong client.”
The 360 ONE way
We see the whole picture, put the right structures in place and walk alongside business owners as they grow. Every client gets the same attention, whatever the size of their business, because the right advice early can change where a business ends up.
